Announcements for April 14, 2015

There will be a GSA meeting today at noon in room 301. All are welcome to attend!

Attention all JT Rookie Hockey players.  There is a short meeting @ 3:30 today in Mr. Steeves room.

There will be a short ultimate frisbee meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12:05. Please see Ms LaPage if you can't make it.

There is a NEW Scholarship from Nelson Civic Leadership called Recognizing Limitless Potential.  You must be a Canadian Citizen, have a 75 % average and make a difference in your community.  Apply on line at www.nelson.com/scholarship by June 1, 2015.

Please note that AP pre-registration will take place on Monday April 20th at 11:30 in the library.
Lunch will be provided.  Please be sure to bring your Student number with you.  Contact Mrs. Palmer if you have any questions.

Any student wishing to participate in the community clean-up on Wednesday, April 15th must sign up at Ms. Peters room 311.  The clean-up will take place during period 6 and volunteer hours provided.

Grade 11 students wanting to Attend the Rotary Career Symposium please hand back your permission form to Mr. Johnson, if you did not get a permission form please see Mr. Johnson. Symposium is on April 22nd.

A reminder that the grade 9 and 11 after school program will meet Wednesday after school in the Foods room.

Soccer anyone?
There will be a brief meeting for anyone interested in playing boys outdoor soccer this season. Please meeting in Ms Rokosh's room   209 Thursday at noon.

Attention all Pipers. This Thursday, the forecast is calling for a White Out. Wear your whites to show your support for our Winnipeg Jets in their first playoff game. You can also wear your white hat for a $1.00 donation. Let's show the Jets our Piper Pride Spirit. Go Jets Go!

Reminder to all JT Grads 2015 - Cap and Gown rentals are $25 and due by May 1st.

John Taylor Collegiate is now open to receiving online payments for Grad Cap and Gown 2015.   Please visit the John Taylor Website and click on Grad 2015.  All the information you need regarding grad will be there.

Grad dinner tickets will also be available for online purchase in the near future. Please see the school website and listen for synervoice messages for updates.

The last fundraiser for Safe Grad is Rumors Comedy Club on May 1 at 10:30pm. The event is $15.00 per person, profits at 50%.  Rumors tickets sales and unsold tickets are due April 23rd at 3:30pm. No late ticket sales. If you want tickets, please contact Michelle Delios @deliosmichelle@gmail.com.

Please see Mrs. Palmer if you are interested in applying for the JT 50th Reunion Scholarship.  The Criteria includes: very good attendance, academic achievement (over 70%), highly involved in student life either in arts, athletics and serves other students as a part of the student council or other group serving our student body.  This student must demonstrate great school spirit.

Reminder to all Grads – Please hand in all your forms that were distributed to you during your Grade Level Meeting on Friday.
