Announcements for December 7, 2015

Today for Pipers Promoting Positive Mental Health, is Monkey Monday.   Did you know that bananas are a healthy snack full of nutrients to fuel your brain? Come and get your free banana in the front link between periods 2 and 3!

To all Nicaragua Travellers, Spanish Lessons will take place in Ms. Paragg's room 109 at 12:45pm every Monday from now until departure. Please make sure you attend. Gracias!!

Attention all gym blast teams: Hamper Donations are due by Friday, December 11th to your designated drop off point:
Red Team - Mr. Marquart's room
Gold Team - Ms. Gosselin's room
Green Team - Ms. Kazun's room
White Team - The Art Room

Reminder to all Gym blast teams: TShirt purchases are due by Friday, December 11th to your designated team captains. Orders will not be accepted after this date.

Attention all students: If you are interested in volunteering in this year's Piper Classic Basketball tournament, application forms are due to Ms. Paragg in room 109 by 3:30pm today.

Red, white, and green teams will be having a meeting today at 12:05 in their designated areas.  See you team captain if you are unaware of where to meet.

The annual Assiniboia Sleigh Ride, hosted by MLA Jim Rondeau, is taking place on Sunday, December 13th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Unique Corral at 1270 Sturgeon Road.  This is a great opportunity for students who need volunteer hours and at the same time enjoy the outdoors and fun event.  For more information, please stop by the office.

MTS is looking for a few enthusiastic student volunteers to help at the annual MTS Children’s Christmas Party taking place at Assiniboia Downs on December 12th from 8:30-4:30pm.  If you can work with minimal supervision, as Face painters, Selfie-booth attendants, Minions (they have great costumes), and looking for fun volunteer opportunities, please the office for more info.

JT Boys Curling members who have not seen Mr. Kutcy today are to see him immediately after announcements to set their travel plans to get to the rink for their game today.

Today’s breakfast special in the cafeteria is a Ham and Cheese Omelet served with toast and hot chocolate for $5.  And today’s lunch special in the cafeteria today is Chili Dog with soup, salad, or fries for $5.75.

Reminder to teachers:  At the beginning of Period 2 today, we would like all classes to demonstrate the Mindful Breathing activity.  This is brought to you by your Pipers Promoting Positive Mental Health Team!

There will be a curling practice today at 4pm. This is the last practice before our season begins next week. Please see Mr. Kutcy if you are not able to attend.  As well, please bring in all curling hoodie orders ASAP so that we can order them and receive them before the holidays.

Are you 18 years old or older?  Lakewood Children's Centre at 55 Kay Crescent is seeking individuals to be employed in their before school program from 7:30 am to 8:30 am.  Interested individuals please stop by the office for more details.

Any students with restaurant experience who would like to earn money over the lunch hour, please see Sylvia in the cafeteria.

Reminder to staff and students, we will be having a presentation in the library this morning at 11:30 for those students who are interested and have completed the presentation attendance form.  As well, if you have not had a chance to participate in the QR Crack the code, you have only two more days to do so before we make the draw for a $20 iTunes gift card!

Attention all JV Boys Volleyball players, your jersey and shorts must be handed in to Mr. Precourt today.
