We Day - Shawn Desman

John Taylor is excited to share about our special guest from WE DAY today. Shawn Desman visited John Taylor Collegiate to talk to the students and staff about the work they are doing as Champions of Free the Children. Last year JT participated in the We Create Change initiative and raised money for education overseas. In addition, JT hosted Spencer West and the We Create Change Tour. In doing so JT supported children overseas but also inspired other schools in the Division to take part in the cause. Shawn Desman also thanked the students for their part in this year's We Scare Hunger program which addresses the issue of hunger in Winnipeg. He recognized that all of this could not have happened without the amazing Student Council and Ms. Paragg. This year the students and staff have organized the We Scare Hunger Haunted House Food Drive for Early Years Schools in our community. By working together, and supporting each other they continue to make a difference.
