October is LGBT History Month: In 1995, the court case Egan v. Canada, rules that freedom from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation be a protected right.

Grade 12 students interested in attending U of M, you are invited to an Evening of Excellence Tuesday October 28th at 6:30 in the University Centre, Fort Garry Campus, please see Mr Johnson or Mrs. Olko for more details.

There will be a GSA meeting in room 301 at 12:10 on Monday. Please bring your lunch. See Mrs. Memka if you cannot attend

Reminder to all grade 9's that there TAKE YOUR KIDS TO WORK DAY forms are due ASAP, please hand them into to your math teacher

Attention all students. Next week is Spirit Week.
 Monday is  pj day
 Tuesday is hat day
 Wednesday is jersey day
 Thursday is piper pride day
 Friday is Halloween (costume day)

We will choose one day during Spirit week as a surprise Grade War Day. All students dressed up in their Spirit Week Gear will earn points for their grade.
Get in the Halloween Spirit, show your Piper Pride, and get involved.

Today is the last day that John Taylor Clothing and Grad Clothing will be on sale during the lunch hour in the front link. Order forms available from Mrs. Memka in room 301.

If any grade 12’s are interested in going on the S-Trip with John Taylor, they need to contact Shay Barron by end of day today if you have any questions.

Reminder to all students: Picture retakes will take place on Tuesday, Oct 28, 2014.  Let’s get those brightest and widest smiles ready.

Attention all students, from now until Thursday, October 30th, John Taylor will hold its first Grade War Challenge in support of the We Scare Hunger Campaign with Free the Children. Canada has more than 800 food banks and 3,000 food programs helping those in need.
All students are encouraged to bring in canned goods to your Period 3 classes. Let's work together to help children and families who go without food on a daily basis.

The John Taylor Variety Night in support of the graduating class of 2014 will be held on Friday, December 5 at 7:00 PM. There will be a great show and silent auction to raise money in support of the Class of 2014.   Tickets go on sale December 1 - 4 be early to have the opportunity to select your seats at a floor table.   Stay tuned for more details.

Save the date: Jostens will be at John Taylor on Nov. 21st for any grads interested in ordering a ring.  More info to follow closer to the date.
