Announcements for June 1, 2015

Congratulations to our JT baseball team who won the city championships last week and this past weekend competed in the provincial championships. Our Boys played great all weekend but ended up placing second to a very strong team from Boissevain. Tournament allstars were Cole A., Brett A. and Wyatt K.  Great job Boys coaches and supervisor Mr. Kavadas.

Congrats to JP who ran the Royal Canadian 1/2 marathon this weekend and got first place in the men's 19 and under category.

Congratulations to Colin J. on winning the 2015 CEC Youth Role Model Award.  He was presented the Rosalinda Natividad Cantiveros Award for courage last Thursday, May 28th.

All graduating students please remember to submit your convocation submission to the Office. Information can include: favorite JT memory, plans for next year and thank yous to people who supported, encouraged or inspired you.  Please see Mrs. Palmer if you have any questions.

John Taylor Collegiate Annual Arts show is taking place on Wednesday, June 3.
Artwork and photography from your very own very talented Pipers will be on display from 4:30 - 8:30 pm in Gym C.  Dance recital will begin at 7 pm in Gym AB.

Attention grade 11 and 12 students, on Friday June 5th River City Ford is partnering up with John Taylor Collegiate to conduct a test-drive fundraising event. For every valid test-drive completed, Ford Motor Company of Canada will donate $20 to the participating community partner - up to $6,000 total!  Pre register with Ms. Paragg in room 109. All proceeds are in support of Free the Children's Me to We Service Trip.

Please contact Mrs Palmer if you able to volunteer for the Lakewood parent council on Wednesday JUNE 3rd.

St James Minor Baseball is looking for volunteers to help on July 31 through August 2 with the canteen, gate, score keeping and pitch counting.  Please see the office for more details.

Informnet Summer School Registration will be available until Tuesday July 7, 2015. Cost is $200 for each course.  The online summer school program is open to all students in Manitoba who have not successfully completed a course during the school year or to students who wish to improve a passing grade.  Forms are available online with www.informnet.mb.ca or see Mrs. Palmer at the office.
