Ron Spangelo from APEGM visited the grade 12 physics class to assist in the assessment of the spaghetti bridge assignment. The objective is to build the strongest bridge from regular spaghetti and white glue. The bridges are to span an opening of 300 mm. They must be between 320 mm and 400 mm long, no higher than 150 mm and must be no greater than 140 mm in width. The bridge that holds the most wins. Mr. Spangelo shared information on the career of engineering and the types of influences that engineers have on our day to day activities.
