Could the following students please see Mrs. Memka before the end of the day to pick up their Grad Clothing: Craig Wiess, Ayla Zimmerman, Carmen Lavallee.

Congratulations to the Piper track team who competed in Selkirk yesterday at the Royal Rumble. The team had some great performances. Didier Ramazani placed third out of 99 boys. Troy Kemball placed 6th in the 1500. Hunter Coates placed top 12 in the long jump and high jump. Great job Pipers.

Attention all beach volleyball players your money and forms are due by Friday the latest if you want to play in the tournament.

Girls basketball tonight is CANCELLED.

Please join us in the dance studio at 12:10 tomorrow for our last YOGA session of this school year.

Attention all grads who are going to University of Manitoba next year: there will be an information session this Thursday at 11am in the Library. University of Winnipeg will be here next Thursday for those students who have applied.

Grade 12 rooftop photos are taking place on Thursday May 19th at 10:50. If you wish to order a copy of the photo please see the office for order form. Orders are due on Monday, May 30 to the office.

Students attending the Construction Expo on WEDNESDAY need to wear pants and full shoes, NO open shoes or sandals will be allowed. Please meet at John Taylor for 8:15 am.

There will be a Girls Beach Volleyball practice today at 3:30.

Attention Grad Committee members - this week's meeting is changed to today at lunch.  It is important that all members attend regularly as May is a busy month for Grad preparation.  We would really appreciate as much help as we can get!

There will be a bake sale today at lunch.

Congratulations again to the Pipers Ultimate team!
Battling extreme windy conditions, the Pipers beat Oak Park 5 - 3 to continue their winning ways.  In a game where defense won the game, special honours go to Presley who shut down the other team's #1 handler and to Madi, Devon, and Lexi who had some key turn-overs in our favour. Good luck Pipers as you enter two teams this weekend in tournament action.

There is a very important Ultimate meeting today at 12:30.

Today is the obstacle course competition in the gym at 12:10 in the gym.  We need 10 students from each grade to participate.  Come out and cheer on your grade and win some prize! Sign-up sheet is in the office

Today is the last chance for grade 11 students to return their permission forms for the Rotary Career Symposium.  Please drop them by Ms. Grant’s office.  Also, if you are planning to drive to the career symposium in a private vehicle please see Ms. Grant asap.

For any French, Art and Photography students interested in the trip to Quebec next year, there is a very short, mandatory meeting today in the Art room. It will start promptly at 12 noon so that you can get the updated information. Please come directly from your 3rd period class so that we can start the meeting as fast as possible.

Congratulations to our boy’s handball team who defeated Kelvin on Monday night but lost a close game to Dakota last night.  Special mention to Brayden G. for some great goal tending and Ricki and Jason for leading the defense

Congratulations to Brett A. and Troy K. who represented John Taylor in the zone doubles badminton tournament yesterday.  They played some fearsome foes, and overcame some tremendous obstacles, finishing third and earning a bronze medal.  Congratulations to all those who represented John Taylor in badminton over the past few weeks - we are lucky to have you as proud pipers!"

Congratulations and Thank You to all 30 students who participated in the Sources of Strength Training yesterday and to the staff who took time to be part of this as well.  Our first meeting will be held in Mrs. Mercier's room this Thursday at 12:03.  Listen for announcements and look for posters advertising upcoming events for next week.

Congratulations to Abby M. who placed third overall in yesterday's girls singles zone tournament!  There were many hard-won games and she played as strong as she's ever played.  For those wanting to see more intense badminton action, head over to Vincent Massey after school today to watch Brett "The Beast" Armstrong and Troy "The Terminator" Kemball bring the heat.  You know it's going to be lit."

With the NHL playoffs in full action, it's time for the return of the floor hockey intramural league championship. A sign-up sheet is posted outside the doors of Gym A/B for all those interested. Scheduled league games will start on Monday, April 25th.

Mmmmm... pancakes and bacon, do we have your attention yet?  The Class of 2016 is hosting a pancake breakfast on Sat. April 30th at the Applebees on Grant Avenue from 8:00 - 10:00 am.  Tickets are $10/each and will be on sale in the front link during the lunch hour starting Tues. April 19th until Thurs. April 21st.  Please come out and support our last Grad fundraiser of the year.

Congratulations to Mr. Kavadas who was awarded Basketball Manitoba coach of the year on the weekend. Also James W. was the Player of the year and the Carl Ridd award winner. Riki Z. was a First Team Allstar in Mb and Jade S., Zach G. and Josh G.were graduating allstars recognized for being the top 20 AAAA players in Manitoba. great job  students and Mr. Kavadas.

A huge congratulations to Craig W on being named the winner of the Marni Miles Sportsmanship Award for the Winnipeg High School Hockey League and Shane B for 2 awards The Price Division MVP and the Price Division scoring Champion, well done. Several players were nominated for league awards but were not selected, They were Josh J, Chris S, Jade C and Colin M. A great season by many players to earn these selections.

All students who showed up to the Trip to France meeting before the break are asked to remind their parents that there is NO parent meeting tonight. The parent meeting has been postponed until a later date.

Our Varsity boys Basketball team defeated Fort Richmond On Friday. Luis, Josh  Zach, Ricki and James all scored in double digits to lead JT to Victory. Thanks to all the fans for coming out to cheer the boys to victory!

Our Pipers now play Garden City tonight at 8 PM at the U of M . The cost to get in $8.00 and not $5 that we thought. We know that is allot to pay so we are providing a pizza dinner and drinks to all our fans who are going to the game. Be at JT at 6:15pm to eat and get some face paint on. The bus leaves at 7:00pm so bring your horn, drum, plastic milk carton with coins and get ready to make some noise. If you have not signed up for the bus do so before noon today. We need a note or phone call from your parents.  SEE YOU TONIGHT  Whooo  - Go Pipers !!!  Any students who had brought in permission forms for Friday game please let the office know if you are planning on attending tonight.

Congratulations shout out to: Gmac, Mr. Steeves, and Mrs. Bergmuller, along with Gmac's missus, whose curling team beat the other staff in the division to win the St. James-Assiniboia Teacher's Association curling bonspiel this weekend. You rocked it!

Boys indoor soccer- after a hard fought exciting, semi final game, the boys were defeated by DMCI with a final score of 4-3 with the winning goal scored in the final 39 seconds.
Goal scorers were Abdissa B. and Stephen B.  Also excellent big saves by goaltender, Andrew J. The team will finish in 3rd place behind DMCI and Gordon Bell.
Well done boys! And congratulations on a most improved indoor season.


Our varsity Boys basketball team plays their provincial semifinal Friday at 6 PM at the U of M.  The bus leaves at 5:10 from JT.  Meet our Varsity boys today between per 1 and 2 on the second floor to meet the players, wish them well, receive a permission form for the bus  on Friday and to start getting ready for the big game.

Our JT varsity Boys basketball team has advanced to the Provincial semifinals with a victory over Vincent Massey this weekend.  Our Pipers now play Fort Richmond on Friday, March 18 at 6 PM at the U of M.  We have 2 busses leaving JT at 5:10 on Friday and returning at 8:30 PM. Sign up in the office and return your permission form ASAP to the office. Let’s get out and cheer our Boys onto Victory on Friday.

The Championship Final takes place on Monday March 21 at 8 PM also at U of M and we will again have 2 busses available for spectators to attend. Get you noise maker and let’s get rowdy.

Congratulations to the boy’s indoor soccer team and their win in the last league game against Sisler. The score was 6-0 with goals scored by Abdissa B., Stephen B.,  and Didier R. Another great game and great goaltending by Andrew J.. The win has advanced the team to the semi finals. Good luck in the semi final game on Monday, March 14, against Daniel Mac.

Congratulations to our boys’ hockey team who won the Winnipeg High School Championship yesterday with a 4-3 shoot out victory!!  Craig W. scored the winning goal for John Taylor and Dylan M. back stopped John Taylor to victory with his great goal tending. A big thanks again to the huge crowd of John Taylor fans who cheered our boys to victory – great job Pipers!!

Participants will play for the chance to win the illustrious `golden racket` in the championships.

There is a bake sale happening this Thursday at lunch. All proceeds are going towards Cancer Care Manitoba in honour of Madison Claven-Enns. Come and support this worthwhile event.

Boys Hockey Team defeated College Louis Riel 5 to 0 yesterday at the IcePlex, Dylan MacDonald had his first shut-out of the year to back stop the team to victory. Boys Hockey Team defeated Murdock McKay to win the best of 3 series 5 to 2 last night, We will start a best of 3 next week against College Louis Riel in the semi finals. Strong goaltending by Dylan M. and great play by many players helped secure the win. Go Pipers!
This Saturday, February 27th 2016, HMCS CHIPPAWA, Winnipeg’s Naval Reserve unit is holding its annual JOB FAIR from 11 Am to 3 Pm.  This event showcases what the Naval Reserve does here in our local area, and across Canada.  This is also a great opportunity for high school students aged 16 and older, in grade 11 or higher to be able to secure excellent part-time and summer employment.  Students that join have the opportunity to make over $7000.00 for this summer, as well as receive tuition reimbursement for post-secondary education, travel Canada, and so much more.  Please see the guidance counsellor or student services for further information.
