Announcements for April 26 2016

Attention all Pipers. If you are interested in running for Student Council Executive for the 2016-2017 school year, please attend our information meeting on Wednesday, April 27th at 12:03 in Ms. Paragg's room, room 109. Applications and Election Dates will be discussed.

Any Grade 11 student who did not get a permission form for the career symposium please pick it up at the office today.  Deadline for permission form return is this Friday, April 29th.

Today is Positive Post It day for Sources of Strength.  Please come to the front link at noon to get your Post-its.

There is a sign up sheet at the office for the Obstacle Course Challenge to be held this Friday at 12:10 in the Gym.  First 10 students in each grade to sign up are entered!

Tomorrow there will be mindfullness yoga in the dance studio at noon.

There is Ultimate practice today at lunch. Be dressed and ready by 12:30.

There is a Construction Career Expo at Assiniboine Downs on May 10th.  The school bus will be leaving school at 8:15 and return before lunch.  The Expo will have many different interactive booths, information on Construction Trades and hands on activities. Please pick up a Permission form from Mr. Johnson if you would like to participate.

Grade 9 and Grade 10 students please check the information boards in the front hallway for which session you are in and what room to go to for Wednesday Morning for John Taylor Career Fair. Please write it down before Wednesday so we can go to sessions on time.

The Teddy Bear's Picnic is looking for students to volunteer at this year's event.  If you are interested in getting some volunteer hours, please see Mrs. Kent for details.  

There will be a Grad Ring fitting on April 29 from 11AM to 1:30PM in the front link.

All grads who have not turned their safe grad information into the office please do so ASAP

All grads please check the list posted outside the office.  If your name is missing or spelled incorrectly please notify the office immediately.

Cap and Gown Rental Fees are due by Friday, April 29th. If you are needing to pay by cash or cheque, please see Ms. Paragg in room 210 from 12:45 - 1:11pm Tuesday, April 26th - Friday, April 29th.

Volunteer Opportunities are available at the Winnipeg Zoo as well as with the Royal City Soccer Club. Royal City Soccer Club is also hiring students to work at soccer camps during July and August. For more information please see Ms. Grant in the guidance area.

Did you know that John Taylor is celebrating Sources of Strength week all this week? Listen for further announcements and check out the posters around the school to see what events are planned.

Do you want a summer job on a green team that works to make our community a nicer looking place to live? Drop by the office to pick up a Take Pride Winnipeg information sheet.

AP exams are taking place this morning.  There will be no bells till the afternoon.

Deer Lodge Centre is looking for volunteers to benefit and enhance patient lives.  If you are interested in volunteering please see the office for contact information.
