Attention Grade 12 Students:
1) It’s time to start planning for life after High School!  Mr. Johnson and Ms. Grant are here to help you with the planning process!  Deadlines are approaching quickly for some programs.  For example if you plan to attend the University of Winnipeg, their entrance scholarship deadline is February 1st.  Stop in the Guidance Room today for more information!

2) Grade 12 students who are interested in attending an open house at U of W, U of M, or Red River during the week of February 16 - 19th should pick up a permission form from the Guidance Office.  Forms need to be returned to Ms. Grant by Monday, February 8th.
Bells will be turned off after announcements this morning and tomorrow morning.
Cafeteria specials today are:  Breakfast on a bun and 2 hashbrowns with a small coffee for $5.00 and hot beef sandwich, soup, salad, or fries for $5.75 for lunch.

Piper Classic Boys Hockey Tournament was a big success last weekend.  The organizing committee would like to thank all the volunteers and the supervisors that helped out. Could the student volunteers please see Mr. Steeves in the next day?  Again, thank you for all your help.
Shane Bigourdin was a tournament all-star leading the Pipers with 15 goals and several assists, he was the tournament top scorer.  Josh Johnson was third in scoring for the tournament, congratulations boys keep up the good work!
Cafeteria specials today are:  2 waffles and hot chocolate for $5.00 for breakfast and cheeseburger and onion rings for $5.75 for lunch.

Attention members of Senior Band- This a Reminder for Senior Band members that you need to be in the band room for 2nd period today for the Hedges grade 8 band visit.
Anyone interested in a quick work out after school Monday, Wednesday, Friday meet in gym C at 3:40 pm.
Anyone who is interested in playing club volleyball for the JT Pipers there is a practice this Sunday 3-4:30 pm
The bus for the boys hockey game at noon has been cancelled.  However, there is a game tonight at 6:15 at the IcePlex, all spectators are welcome.  
Today’s Breakfast special is a homestyle breakfast with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 hashbrown, toast and coffee for $5.00.  Lunch will be a grilled cheese with bacon and soup, salad, or fries for $5.75

Attention all grade 12 students - EPH Apparel has teamed up with John Taylor Collegiate to offer all students an exclusive opportunity to purchase a custom suit for your graduation if you attend your fitting on campus!  Please come out for an information session today at 12:05 in room 106.

 Musical practice is taking place in the Dance studio at 12:15-1:00 for all members of the musical.
Our Boys hockey team plays in the Piper Classic hockey tournament this weekend.  Any Gr 11 and 12 students who have a spare and want to attend the game at noon on Friday must have a permission form from the office. If you need a ride the bus will leave JT at 11:55 tomorrow.

Permission forms must be in tomorrow at 8:30 to the office.
Today’s Breakfast special is a breakfast wrap Ham with 2 hashbrowns and hot chocolate for $5.  Lunch today is 2 slider burgers with soup, fries, or salad for $5.75.

Attention all grade 12 students - EPH Apparel has teamed up with John Taylor Collegiate to offer all students an exclusive opportunity to purchase a custom suit for your graduation if you attend your fitting on campus!  Please come out for an information session on Thursday, Jan. 21st at 12:05 in room 106.

There will be a girls softball practice and mandatory meeting today at 8 PM in Gym A/B. All who are interested in playing must attend.

Piper Classic Hockey Tournament takes place this weekend from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon, We are looking for volunteers to sell 50/50, to work the front desk and to assist in the penalty boxes, please see Mr. Johnson for details.

The Varsity Girls Curling team won their final game of the season, humbling the Oak Park girls team. All members of the JT squad played well, but everyone was talking about Sarah Farrington's huge shot in the 4th end, wicking off of an opponent rock out by the boards to come across ice to take out Oak Park's short rock in the 4 foot; stunning play!

On the other side of the rink, the JT boys team lost a heartbreaker to Vincent Massey, losing by 1 point in the eighth end. Best wishes to the guys in their last game of the season next Monday against Shaftsbury.

Congratulations to our Jr. Varsity girls basketball team who scored 31 points in the second half to defeat stonewall 41-40 last night. Noelle Allen led all scorers with 10 points and Lorna Knipe hit the winning free throw with 12 seconds left. Great work ladies!

Congratulations to the JV Boys basketball team on winning the Consolation Final of the 2016 Centurion Shootout with a 30 point victory over the host team, Fort Richmond Collegiate.  Great job, boys!

All grad committee members - we will resume our weekly Grad meetings starting tomorrow.
A new business called Trains and Treasures is looking for volunteers to work weekends in January and other days of the week starting in February.  It is located in the old Safeway store on Ness, this volunteer position is working with young children. Please see Mr. Johnson for details.
Avoid the cold at lunch and come enjoy playing table tennis during intramurals! All are welcome to play during open gym starting today. JT has over 10 tables in the gym to come and show your table tennis skills.

Cafeteria specials for today are Denver with cheese and large coffee for $5.00 and for lunch baked spaghetti and garlic toast for $5.75.

Students that would like to play Rugby this year please come out on Monday nights at 8:00pm in our A/B gym, this is for both the men’s and ladies team. Come try a new sport and get in shape, league will start at the end of April.

The Boys Winnipeg High School Hockey All-Star game yesterday gold team defeated black team 6 to 4. Gold team was led by Craig W. with 2 goals and Chris S. had another goal. Craig was named player of the game for his efforts for gold team, Dylan M. played well in net to help secure the win. The black team was led by Shane B. who score 1 goal and had 2 assists and he was named player of the game for the black team. Great work Pipers!
