Announcements for February 25, 2015

Attention all staff and students: Today is Pink Shirt Day. We wear pink shirts in solidarity against bullying. Canada Bullying Statistics state: Between 10% and 15% of high school students are victims.

We will be selling Bullying Awareness Hoodies, t-shirts, hats, bracelets, and bags in the front link this week between 12:10-12:40pm.

If anyone is interested in helping create the sets for JT's musical Guys and Dolls, please see Ms. Krahn to get involved

A Reminder that there is a very important yearbook meeting today at 12 noon. The Friesens rep will be present.

Do you have opinions about how cell phones should be used at JT? Make sure you come to the Student Advisory meeting on tomorrow at 12:00pm in the Bio lab on the 3rd floor. This is an
opportunity to have your voice heard!

Attention Grads: One last chance to order Grad clothing.  Action Apparel will be here today and tomorrow during the lunch hour to take orders for grad hoodies or sweats.

Reminder to Grads:  Cookie Dough Order Forms must be in to Mrs. Penner today.   Please check your tally and money before handing it in.

Are you in grade 12 and have completed your 40 CIA hours?  There are scholarship forms available in the office for you to complete to be considered for Division and JT Scholarship opportunities.

Girls interested in playing outdoor soccer.  We will begin training at the beginning of March.  Please see Ms. Armistead in room 303 for a schedule as soon as possible.

There will be a mandatory team handball meeting at 12:03 today in room 211 for anyone interested in playing.

Friday afternoon Period 5 & 6 woods class will report to the library for attendance.

Safe Grad - March 7th Bud, Spud and Steak Fundraiser

Donation Tickets are $10.00 each

Dinner Tickets are $20.00 each ( dinner options include: steak, chicken, vegan & vegetarian)

Tickets are not available at the door.

Please send your donation for the safe grad Bud, Spud & Steak to the office prior to next Wednesday.

Just a quick clarification any grads attending also have to purchase tickets. If they are minors they can still attend, but must leave the premises of TYC by 9pm.

Congratulations to the Junior and Senior Band Members, Drum Line and Choral group for putting on a successful winter Concert.  The beautiful music warmed up the audience who came out to support and enjoy the show last night.

Any students or teachers interested in playing in the 3 on 3 basketball intramurals the sign-up sheets are outside gym A. Come on out and get active during lunch time. Yes you can have teachers on your team. The deadline to sign up is this Friday, Feb20

The Pipers hockey team defeated Selkirk 5-3 last night at the MTS Iceplex to complete a series sweep and move into the final 4 of the city championships. Dylan R. had 3 points including the game winner and Shane B. also had a goal and 3 points to lead the Pipers. Marcus A. had 2 goals and Craig W. rounded out the scoring for JT. The Pipers now play the St.Pauls Crusaders, the series starts next Tuesday at the Iceplex.

All students going to the Blood Donation Field Trip today need to report to the office for 9:00.  You must have your ID with you.

Announcements for February 19, 2015

Attention all Band and Choral students: Tonight is our winter concert. All members of senior band should be in the band room at 1:11pm this afternoon for the dress rehearsal. Members of the Junior band will be called down for a dress rehearsal at 3pm today.

There are ample opportunities to be published and win cash prizes for your writing. Any student wanting to enter writing contests, please see Mr. Marquart.

All AP t-shirt orders are due on Thursday FEB 19th to your AP teacher or Mrs. Palmer
